Dakota
My name is Dakota. I am five months old. I have been living at my new home for two months now. My new Mommy and Daddy call me Kota. I am a sweet and smart little guy.
I don’t remember much about my past, but I do remember being brought in by my foster Mommy Lynn. She and her daughter spoiled me rotten! One day my Mommy and Daddy called Lynn about another dog. During the conversation Lynn suggested me instead, and boy am I glad. The next day Lynn took me to meet my potential Mommy and Daddy at their house. I was such a good boy, so good in fact, that it was decided that very night that I was going to be adopted! Everyone thought that I was just too cute to pass up.
A day later my Mommy and Daddy were busy getting the house in order and shopping for me. Yes, shopping just for me. They bought me all of the things I would need to start my new life at my new house. I must say the bed that my Mommy picked out for me is very comfy! It is my favorite place to lounge. My Daddy picked out some really cool toys for me along with some good treats.
I am growing really big! Mommy thinks that I am twice the size that I was when I came to my new home. Daddy thinks I will get twice as big as I am now. The vet thinks that too. The vet thinks that I am a lab/weimaraner mix. That’s okay with Mommy and Daddy, no matter what mix I am they think I am cute and a lovebug!
My life at my new house is wonderful. I get tons of hugs and kisses from my Mommy and Daddy. They’re always telling me how cute I am and how much they love me. Two times a week I get to go to the Bark Park all day to play with my other doggie friends. Mommy and Daddy check in on me through the web cam setup at the daycare. I have so much fun running around and playing with the other dogs. Boy, am I tired when they come to pick me up. I often fall asleep in the car on the way home! Speaking of riding in the car...I love to ride in the car. I am very good dog in the car. I lay on the backseat and don’t fuss at all!
Mommy and Daddy take me on a lot of walks too! I get to go all over the neighborhood. I am really good on a leash. Every time Mommy or Daddy stops on the walk I sit automatically incase they are stopping for a car to pass. Occasionally I get a treat for sitting on the walk (more so from Mommy though!)
I am taking a puppy class at PetSmart. I am doing very well. Some of the commands that I know I learned at class, some I knew from my foster home, and some my Mommy and Daddy taught me. So far I know sit, down, shake, roll-over, settle, stay, crate, and heel. I am starting to know what Bark Park means too! When Mommy or Daddy says “Bark Park” I get so excited that my whole body wiggles and I run to the front door.
As you can see I am doing very well and I thank Furry Friends and my foster Mommy for helping me get to my new family!
Love,
Kota
